Penn U13 v Penkridge U13
A very
inexperienced U13 Side Containing six U11's travelled to Penn. Losing the
toss Penkridge were asked to bat and were soon in trouble losing a wicket
first ball. Connor Bayne-Holden and Joe Marson added 11 for the next wicket
against some good bowling from the Penn attack. Michael Hartwell replaced the
unfortunate Joe Marson who made a solid 5. Connor and Michael then added 30
for the next wicket, when Michael was bowled for 9. Tom Lane then came to the
crease and started of with a nice shot off his legs . The innings was cut
short a by rain when Penkridge had reached 45 for 3, with Connor unbeaten on
11.
Penn lost a
wicket in their first over when Connor BH bowled the opener. Penn were
scoring freely and lost their second wicket when the batsman hit the ball in
the air and set off for a run, the ball bounced, hit the wicket, but did not
disturb the bails, however with some quick thinking Connor BH picked the ball
up and ran out the batsman. Penn then reached the target without losing
another wicket and a impressive 26 Not Out from Heath.
All the players
gave their all in a game with the odds stacked against them, they can all be
proud of their effort

the innings for the second consecutive game. Connor Baynes-Holding

unluckily run out, Penkridge eventually finished on 50 for 7 at the end
of their 20 overs.
Penkridge U13 v Old Wulfs
Tettenhall U13
Old Wulfs batted
first and struggled to get to away from some tight bowling, they eventually
reached 97 for 8 with some fine strokes being played and were gifted a couple
of boundaries with overthrows (something to work on in training). Tom Morris
was the pick of the bowlers picking up 4 wickets for 17, plus he got a run out
with a direct throw.
In reply
Penkridge both openers struggled to get going, Tom Lane was eventually out for
14 which brought in Captain Tom Morris who started to make the scoreboard tick
over. This seemed to inspire Connor BH who all of a sudden batted at another
level and was working the ball around the wicket and had to had to retire on
32. Michael was next in and kept the score moving and when he was out,
Kieren joined Tom. Tom was next out for 18. Kieren (11 NO) and Tom Murphy
(7 NO) took Penkridge home with some good attacking shots.
