Penkridge U15's V Rugeley U15's

Rugeley went into bat on a very wet and dismal Sunday morning their two openers were both out when the score was on 21, with a wicket each for Andy Allman and Alex Morris.  Their next two batsmen took the score up to 83 before the loss of the next wicket.  Rugeley eventually reached 105 for 4 at the end of their 20 overs..

Penkridge in reply had a fine opening partnership stand of 81 between Kieran Smith and Tom Morris, Tom was out in the 16th over for 27 and Kieran then quickly completed his 50 and had to retire.  Penkridge struggled to recover having effectively lost to the openers in quick succession and lost a further five wickets as they finished an agonising 6 runs short.

Brewood U15 v Penkridge U15

Penkridge under 15's traveled to Brewood with several changes to the team that beat Brewood in the cup the previous week, including the fact that Will Hartwell was behind the stumps and that the normal wicket keeper Jack Browne was set to bowl his first competitive overs. Brewood were also changed with their county and district players returning t the team.

Brewood batted first and their county player Bird made a quick fire 31 before Kieran Smith managed to bowl him in the 6th over with the score on 35. However once the removal of Bird ,  Penkridge started to bring themselves back into the game with some tight bowling, with Jack Browne taking a wicket with his first ball. There were wickets also for Alex Morris and Andy Allman and two very good run outs, but what did let Penkridge down was the out field play was not up to their usual standard and they allowed Brewood several more runs then they should have had. Brewood finished on 102 for the loss of 6 wickets.

Penkridge in reply opened with Kieran Smith and Will Hartwell and made steady progress before Will was out for 8, Kieran was later caught when he was on 30, but only two other batsmen managed to reach double figures, Chris Henderson and Josh Riley both out for 10 and with Brewood very good in the field they bowled Penkridge out for 90.
